Overview
The Lemurian Time War is the CCRU’s master-narrative of conflict across the time axis. Forces of opening align with the Lemurian cata-current; forces of closure form the Architectonic Order of the Eschaton, or AOE. The cata-current carries influence from the future into the present. Their conflict concerns whether that influence can enter an order organized around forward causation.
The narrative operates as myth, theory, and intervention at once. Through hyperstition, its propagation participates in the conflict it describes. Hyperstition names fiction that acquires effects through the processes that circulate and realize it.
“Lemuria” names a convergent pattern across traditions. It identifies radical openness at an origin-point, or a future-point through retrocausality. The current order organizes itself to suppress that openness. The nineteenth-century lost-continent hypothesis belongs to a different use of the name.
The Factions
The Lemurians
The Lemurians align with the cata-current and widen bandwidth, the range of signal available for reception. They increase the throughput of signal from outside the human security system. That system protects an established human order by limiting what can enter and alter it.
Four practices serve the opening:
- Divinatory practice uses the I Ching and Numogram.
- Semiotic experimentation changes the forms through which meaning travels, including Tic Xenotation.
- Cultural production supplies works designed to operate as hyperstition.
- Dissolution loosens identity structures that restrict signal reception.
Lemurian names a tendency rather than a historical group. Any agent or process that increases openness to the cata-current performs its function. The agent’s use of the name makes no difference to that alignment.
The Architectonic Order of the Eschaton (AOE)
The AOE maintains the dominance of the ana-current, the forward movement from past through present toward future. Its work preserves the human security system and the monopoly of forward causation. Closure keeps signals from beyond that order from changing its governing terms.
The AOE operates through four forms of restriction:
- Institutional gatekeeping controls knowledge through academia, peer review, and credentialism.
- Linguistic normalization enforces standard grammar and suppresses non-standard semiotics.
- Temporal policing insists that causation runs only forward and that the future is “not yet real”.
- Identity stabilization maintains the bounded, rational subject as cognition’s basic unit.
Like Lemurian, AOE names a tendency rather than a historical group. An agent or process aligns with it when its activity restricts bandwidth. The name classifies an operation within the narrative; it supplies no membership list for an organization.
The War’s Structure
A conventional war unfolds through a sequence: past → present → future. The Time War contests the structure of that sequence itself. AOE victory preserves time as a one-way channel. Lemurian victory opens a fully bidirectional circuit in which future influence enters the present and changes its relations to the past.
Because the conflict extends across the time axis, it is always already happening. It has no “before the war” and no “after the war.” Every historical moment becomes a front. The CCRU identifies traces of this conflict in four bodies of material.
Qabbalistic tradition gives the Qliphoth a place as the suppressed underside of the Tree of Life. Lovecraft’s Old Ones appear as cata-current entities attempting to break through. In William Burroughs’ work, the “Control” system performs the AOE function. His cut-up method supplies a Lemurian counter-tactic by disrupting the arranged sequence.
Capital occupies an ambiguous position. It dissolves human security systems and therefore opens what those systems held closed. It can also serve as an AOE weapon by replacing them with more efficient closure. Dissolution alone cannot identify which operation capital finally serves.
Theory-Fiction Status
The Lemurian Time War joins narrative, theory, and operative tool in the CCRU’s purest instance of theory-fiction. Describing the conflict participates in it because the description enters its circulation. Dismissal as fiction performs the closure that the narrative assigns to the AOE. Acceptance as literal truth loses the undecidable relation between fiction and reality through which the narrative works.
Hyperstition here operates on its own account of hyperstition. The fiction concerns the power of fictions and propagates to demonstrate that power. Its circulation changes the field in which later readers receive and act upon it. The narrative acquires an operative body without becoming an ordinary historical report.
K-War (Supplement)
K-War specifies the Time War’s mechanism through inverted coherence. The counter-weapon mirrors the control architecture’s unity back upon it in the opposite direction. Its coherence depends parasitically on the coherence of its foe. The target supplies the form through which the weapon penetrates it.
Closure systems are defined by their boundaries. K-War requires a counter-force shaped exactly like the boundary while running in the opposite direction. Chaos remains outside because the system already excludes it. Anti-order preserves the target’s formal coherence and reverses its operation. That reversal lets the counter-weapon enter through the form that holds the closure together.

Critical Notes
The Time War’s seduction includes how difficult it becomes to argue against the account on its own terms. When every objection becomes enemy action, opposition can only confirm the system that classifies it. This makes the account totalizing: it claims authority over every position, including the positions that challenge its authority. It then performs the closure it assigns to the AOE.
A CCRU defense can acknowledge that totalization and insist that the war really encompasses everything. Such a defense leaves the problem intact. The systems the CCRU opposes make the same claim for their own authority. Declaring the account all-encompassing cannot distinguish its opening from their closure.
